MyWritingFellow ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our website and AI writing companion service at mywritingfellow.com.
Your account: You sign in with your email, so you have an account with us. We use your email to sign you in and to keep your work connected to you between visits.
Your conversations: Your conversations with your Fellow are saved so it can remember you between visits and pick up where you left off. Your Fellow also keeps short notes about your writing and what you are working on, so it gets to know you over time.
Uploaded files: If you upload a document (PDF, DOCX, TXT, or similar), its text becomes part of your conversation and is saved along with it.
You control your memory: You can turn memory off at any time. When it is off, your Fellow stops saving new conversations and notes. You can also ask us to delete your data at any time (see "Your Rights" below).
Usage data: We may collect standard web analytics (page views, session length, browser type) through our hosting provider (Netlify). This is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
Anthropic: Your conversation messages are processed by the Anthropic Claude API to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy governs their handling of this data. We do not share personally identifying information with Anthropic beyond the conversation content you provide.
Netlify: Our site is hosted on Netlify. Netlify may collect standard server logs and analytics. See Netlify's privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy.
Your conversations and the notes your Fellow keeps are saved so it can remember you across visits. You stay in control: you can turn memory off at any time, and your Fellow will stop saving. You can also ask us to delete your account and everything connected to it, and we will remove it.
MyWritingFellow is powered by artificial intelligence. Responses generated by your Fellow are AI-generated and are intended for creative writing support purposes only. They do not constitute professional editorial, legal, medical, psychological, or any other professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional for matters requiring professional expertise.
As a Canadian service, we comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You have the right to request access to any personal information we hold about you, and to request its correction or deletion. To make such a request, contact us at the address below.
Users in the European Economic Area also have rights under GDPR including the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your data.
MyWritingFellow does not use tracking cookies. Our hosting provider (Netlify) may set functional cookies necessary for site operation. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
MyWritingFellow is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We take reasonable measures to protect the information processed through our service. However, no internet transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of data transmitted to or from our service.
